Did I miss it????? I don’t remember it though。。UGH, I care so deeply for these characters。 This series is just so raw & intense。 Feelings are temporary。 I hope that everyone will heal from their past and also their traumas。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 Mostly follows Nomiya as he trains for tryouts with a pro team and Takahashi in the rehab center with Shiratori, his new pro wrestler roommate。There is an incredible underwater panel on oh 174 that I stared at for minutes。 Really great。 Note to self: Feeling like I knew about 70%ish of the kanji pronunciation in this。 Would be fun to read through these again when I have a bit better literacy so that I pick up on more of the nuance

Real, Vol。 9 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and collects the next six chapters (49–54) of the ongoing manga series。Tomomi Nomiya continues with his existential exploration as he starts training to become a part of the Tokyo Lightnings – a basketball team。 At first he was intimated by the team – especially of Anzai Yoshiki – a popular member of the team。 While following the coach of the Lightnings one night, he overhears what he wants as a team member and decides to train to be th Real, Vol。 9 continues where the previous tankōbon left off and collects the next six chapters (49–54) of the ongoing manga series。Tomomi Nomiya continues with his existential exploration as he starts training to become a part of the Tokyo Lightnings – a basketball team。 At first he was intimated by the team – especially of Anzai Yoshiki – a popular member of the team。 While following the coach of the Lightnings one night, he overhears what he wants as a team member and decides to train to be that sort of player。Hisanobu Takahashi continues his physical therapy and is surprise to learn that his roommate, Shiratori, is a famous wrestler called the Scorpion。 He makes a mad goal: to be able to walk within three months, which Takahashi thinks is preposterous。 He thinks the same thing when Tomomi Nomiya visits him and apologizes to being such a poor player to him and that he would be trying out for the Lightnings – another ridiculous in his mind。 He also begins Physical Education, where he is learning to swim。Kiyoharu Togawa does not make an appearance in this tankōbon except to the very end when Tomomi Nomiya challenges him to a basketball match。This tankōbon is written and illustrated by Takehiko Inoue。 I was slightly surprised that this tankōbon focused on Tomomi Nomiya and Hisanobu Takahashi again as I was thinking that it would be Kiyoharu Togawa-centric as they seem to switch perspectives。 It is interesting to read about these two as one finds purpose in life and the other trying to become independent。All in all, Real, Vol。 9 is a wonderful continuation to a series that seems intriguing and I cannot wait to read more。 。。。more

Fab volume。Nomiya gets really serious。。。like stalking the coach serious。 The trio in the rehab centre have amazing water physio。 Just, fabulous。 Some amazing shocked faces!! Takahashi still struggles, but maybe his mindset is gradually changing。

8。5/10Takahashi makes some progress。 Nomiya has a goal。 2/3s of our protagonists are looking pretty good!

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 It is never disappointing, every page is a shot through the heart。 I was glad to see Nomya's stance change and was utterly moved when he decided to aplogize to Takahashi 。The ending sort of cliffhanger was what I was hoping for since a long time。 It is never disappointing, every page is a shot through the heart。 I was glad to see Nomya's stance change and was utterly moved when he decided to aplogize to Takahashi 。The ending sort of cliffhanger was what I was hoping for since a long time。 。。。more

This volume continues the storylines of Takahashi and Nomiya。 Takahashi's hierarchical understanding of the world is being broken down。 He used to be the top of the food chain but while he struggles to do one lift/transfer, Hanasaki can do five! This series is SO addictive。 It's going to be hard waiting for volume 10 to come out around November 2011 :( We finally have all three boys getting aligned with their dreams and passion for basketball。 Togawa started us off strong from the beginning of the series with his drive to succeed with wheelchair basketball。 Poor Nomiya, with his bad luck but good spirit, has been stumbling through his daily life。。。that is, until just recently in the series when he finally found his drive to become a pro This series is SO addictive。 It's going to be hard waiting for volume 10 to come out around November 2011 :( We finally have all three boys getting aligned with their dreams and passion for basketball。 Togawa started us off strong from the beginning of the series with his drive to succeed with wheelchair basketball。 Poor Nomiya, with his bad luck but good spirit, has been stumbling through his daily life。。。that is, until just recently in the series when he finally found his drive to become a pro basketball player in a regular league。 And now, at the close of volume 9, Nobu is starting to see the light as he remembers his pre-accident encounter with Togawa and recognizes that even in a wheelchair he can also still find a dream to drive him forward (playing basketball)and keeping him motivated to meet all of the physical challenges he has yet to conquer。。。Yay! I very badly want all three boys to find their happiness in life。。。 。。。more
